  • sacred rhythms: 2023 Summer Book Study

    for individuals & groups!

    As a compliment to our new Sermon Series: Summer Packing List, Pastor Erik has chose Ruth Haley Barton's Sacred Rhythms as our Summer Book Study. Copies of the book are available for purchase in the Courtyard on Sundays and from the Church Office during our open hours for $10 each. We have also prepared a reading guide for anyone who chooses to participate. It is available as a hard or digital copy. 


    On Tuesday, July 18, Pastor Erik will be hosting a book discussion in the Community Room at 4:00 P.M. Anyone participating in the book study is welcome to join!

  • contemplative prayer | dinner & discussion

    sunday, july 9 | 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

    Join us for an evening of dinner, conversation, and learning about the historic practice of Contemplative Prayer. More than prayers before mealtimes, or community prayers in worship, Contemplative Prayer invites us into a deep experience of God’s presence with us. 


    Centering Prayer can be the time where we come to understand, know, and see the movement of God’s Spirit in each day, no matter where we are. 


    Our guest facilitator for this event is Dr. Janna Gosselin. She completed her doctorate at USC in English, working with faculty in the School of Religion and writing her dissertation on the works of Christian mystic Julian of Norwich. Janna also completed a Master of Arts at Theology at Fuller Theological Seminary. Janna is a gifted educator, and among many university classroom courses, she has also conducted a well-attended six-part lecture series on the Christian mystics at the La Canada Presbyterian Church, with courses entitled, “Knowing Yourself, Knowing God;” “Deepening Your Connection to God,” “The Protestant Mystics” and “Contemplative Prayer.”
